the perry avera scholarship

The Perry Avera Scholarship was created to honor the life and legacy of Perry Avera (aka Hollywood), who worked for The Timbermen for more than 20 years and was a cherished part of our work family before his passing in 2024. Perry was known not only for his larger-than-life personality, but also for his strong work ethic, determination, and pride in a job well done. As a dedicated forklift driver, he showed up every day ready to work, overcome challenges, and support those around him.

In Perry’s memory, his family and The Timbermen have partnered together to award a $1,000 scholarship to a student who resides in Warren, McDuffie, or Glascock County and plans to attend a vocational school, trade school, or technical college. This scholarship reflects Perry’s belief in hard work, perseverance, and building a better future through hands-on skills.

Through this scholarship, we hope Perry’s legacy lives on by supporting students who are willing to work hard, push through obstacles, and take the next step toward achieving their goals—just as Perry did throughout his life.
